Special vehicle standards
Special vehicles destined for African public services and operators must meet recognised international standards. Here are the main ones — and how we ensure each delivered vehicle complies.
EN 1789 — Ambulances
EN 1789 defines the requirements for road ambulances and their equipment, classified as Type A (patient transport), Type B (emergency) and Type C (mobile intensive care / ALS). It covers cabin dimensions, equipment anchoring, electrical systems and patient safety.
EN 1846 — Fire and rescue vehicles
The EN 1846 series specifies the design and performance of firefighting and rescue vehicles — classification by mass, categories of use, and safety requirements for pumps, tanks and aerial appliances.
CE marking & ECE homologation
CE marking attests conformity with the applicable European directives, while ECE (UNECE) homologation covers the chassis and components. Together they form the basis of the conformity dossier required for customs clearance.
ADR & specialised requirements
Vehicles carrying dangerous goods (fuel, chemicals) follow the ADR agreement; certain command or tactical vehicles may follow STANAG requirements. The specification is adapted to the intended use and destination.
How we ensure compliance
We source from audited manufacturers, check the technical specification against the applicable standard, arrange pre-shipment conformity inspection, and assemble the complete conformity dossier (certificates, CE/ECE documents) so each vehicle clears customs and enters service without delay.
