Vehicle import to Mauritania

We deliver new special vehicles to Mauritania via the Port of Nouakchott (Port de l'Amitié), managing customs clearance with the Mauritanian Customs. Mauritania applies its own national tariff regime (outside UEMOA/ECOWAS).

  1. 1 Cargo tracking note issued before shipment (issuing body confirmed case by case).
  2. 2 Goods inspection above the thresholds in force, and the manufacturer's certificate of conformity for a new vehicle.
  3. 3 Sea transport and arrival at the Port de l'Amitié in Nouakchott (or Nouadhibou).
  4. 4 Customs declaration in the ASYCUDA system by a licensed broker, based on the CIF value.
  5. 5 Assessment of import duty and VAT (standard rate 16%), then removal after release.

Vehicles acquired by the State or through a public tender may qualify for exemptions. Given the limited public documentation, exact rates and formalities are confirmed with a licensed broker in Nouakchott before each operation.
